Résumé ou extrait
- There are now approximately one thousand female military aviators flying within the NATO nations. Twenty-eight papers were presented at an AGARD conference to review the experience of each nation with recruiting, selection, training and military operations of female aircrew. In addition, a section was devoted to the discussion of the physiological differences between male and female aviators, and pregnancy and flying. Once selected, there appear to be no basic differences in flight capabilities between men and women. There is a requirement to develop smaller helmets, oxygen masks and NBC respirators for females, and data were presented which showed that females are more susceptible to decompression sickness
