- Integrated airframe design embraces the concept of bringing together all of the aspects of airframe design, including various disciplines such as structures, materials, aerodynamics, controls and manufacturing, from conceptual design all the way through to the final product and its repair and maintenance. The results emphasized that the recent and future advances in high-performance computer hardware and software systems provide the opportunity to create a process that will allow these disciplines to rapidly interact with one another
