There are simply too many competitors possessing highly developed LNG infrastructure that Russian [sic] does not have and is unlikely to get in the near future. Nor does it have year-round warm water ports to transport its potential LNG production to market, despite the Russian hype over its Sakhalin II project. The collapse of the LNG market in the U.S. is a serious blow to Gazprom, but the Kremlin seemingly refuses to accept this fact and is proceeding with its plans."
