The emphasis of most of its chapters however goes beyond the D.F. 10 x 80, offering insights into forgotten logistical processes and systems applicable to all German military binoculars produced roughly between 1935 and 1945, regardless of whether they were intended to the Heer, the Luftwaffe, or the Kriegsmarine. For the first time, the original economic, industrial, and military cataloguing systems are also highlighted, which finally allow for a consistent taxonomy of German military optics from the Second World War. This also allowed the authors new light on the Germain military serial number allocation systems in general. "Those who have studied the first volume of his monograph will agree : This optic was a remarkable development achievement. Anyone who has ever used it will understand why Peter chose this subject. He hasn't just delighted us with his book ; Peter and his co-author Francis also inspire us to delve deeper into this topic and other similar optics. Not only to expand our knowledge but also to enjoy viewing experiences that few modern optics can offer". Dr Hans T. Seeger. Le texte supra figure sur la quatrième de couverture du livre.
